Catching up - The October edition.

I'm going to start with one of my favorite pictures...

... Sometimes the quiet has a way of showing us just how lucky we are. Needless to say, I opened up my eyes again tonight. Thanking God for things like this. The little trails we leave as we are living. The sure evidence of family. ...Fall coats resting on our wobbly chairs. Dinner stained booster seats. A freshly cleaned kitchen after a hearty casserole dinner night. Our sweet and soft Boots purring so loudly the floor vibrates around her. Oh, how my heart swells with gratitude.

Rewinding back a couple weeks... We visited our buddies Allison and Kyle and had fun at the park. ...er... parks! :)

We've had a lot of fun crafting...

^Ashton and Josie's hand print bats.

We decorated paper pumpkins...

We've decorated real pumpkins...

We've made and played with pumpkin pie spiced play dough...

Which is certainly not as tasty as it smells...

We colored spooky ghosts...

We painted our faces just because...

We baked Halloween cookies...

Josie, Wyatt and I went outside while Ashton and daddy were napping one day...

We tried out a new apple orchard

They had a train table!

And we drank apple cider

We ate "dog dogs" -As Ashton calls them

We waited anxiously for the "tractor trucks" -Ashton :)

We sat in awe as we rode on the "tractor truck..."

And then, we searched for apples.

We checked out there selection of furry friends...

We rode on the squeaky train ride...

And before we left we picked out more pumpkins to add to our growing stash...

Ashton was a bit sleepy...

On Friday we helped the kids put on their costumes so they could break them in at their very first Halloween party (Kidz Club)

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you *drum roll* ...Percy the green train from Thomas and Friends - and our little black and white kitty cat...

Ashton mostly played with the trains as Josie ventured all around the room checking out every last detail. Dancing around to songs like, "purple people eater" and "ghostbusters."

Guess who won the prize for overall best costume? Our very own little kitty cat...

I really think she won because she greeted everyone in the room at least 10 times. By the time our champion won... she was ready to go home. :) (...Ashton ended up taking off his costume half way through the party so he could slide on the slides.)

Josie even lost the use of her two hands from all the winning excitement...

he-he... just kidding...

We're all looking forward to a nice Halloweeny week ahead!

Boo!

-Jess
