Christmas and a New Year!

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to Hafners to pick out a new ornament for our tree!

We chose this one!

Later on, we picked out our tree from a local farm just down the road

Their Elf on the Shelf, Rosie came back with treats!

Yuki likes to sit just like this near the heater every morning!

At the creek

The library gave the kids these cute little Christmas countdown calendars - Liam decided to add all the cottonballs on the first day

The front window was the perfect place to hang our stockings this year

Some Elf antics:

Reading through the Christmas story each morning from their Advent calendar

Even Yuki had an Advent calendar!

On the last day of school before Christmas, I gave the kids a Polar Express party! Cinnamon rolls, cocoa, fruit and a Christmas gift waiting for each of them at the table when they woke up

it just so happened that it fell on a day that we had a good amount of snowfall outside!

Reading the Polar Express at lunch and making fun bell art

At night, we made a Polar Express train and watched the movie!

The next day, we went sledding and brought the kids shopping to buy their sibling gifts!

That weekend, the fire department came around with Santa and brought the kids candy canes!

The Christmas Eve/Christmas day groceries are my favorite.

Annual shot at the temperature on Christmas eve morning! Off to get breakfast sandwhiches!

Our dinner spread...

We happened to park right behind my best friend at the Christmas eve drive thru service! It was such a blessing to be able to see her, hug her and chat with her while we waited for the service to begin

The next day! My 34th birthday!

My friend Steph dropped off a gift basket with the fluffiest pink slippers ever as a joke!

Yuki likes them a lot!

Josh bought me a birthday cake! Icecream! My favorite :)

34 years. Both of us now! So glad to have been able to "grow up" and build a life with him. I love him more than words!

The end of another Christmas season

New years Eve...

Amy's parents had dropped us off a beautiful gift basket that included this puzzle for Christmas! It took me about 7 hours to finish!! It was really Eli's idea... but he "helped" about ten of those minutes! ;)

Happy New Year!!!!!

Back to school! January! Another new year.

Our January lunchtime read aloud because it has been awhile since we've read this one!

We studied Canada our first week back! One day, we read about the Inuits and dog sledding

Josh is still working from home

Math with Daddy

A chilly trip to the zoo! The animals are so fun in the winter!

Poutine for our Canada week!

The kids also read about the author Lucy Maud Montgomery. They made these fun collages of Anne's famous quotes

The kids are studying the United States this week! They have memorized the Preamble to the Constitution, we've studied the statue of liberty and other national monuments, the government, American history, NY history and so much more! Tomorrow, they are going to prepare a very American lunch!

....and that does it for me! I'm all caught up! Hope to see you more frequently on here this year. Thinking of you all and I love you.

xoxo, Jessie
