Fathers Day and The Drive in.

He's the real deal.

truely the best daddy I have ever met.

I could write a book on the million little things you do that make you a special dad. Thank you for loving them. Putting them first. Thank you for making memories for them. Thank you for spending time with them.

You are wonderful.

-Father's Day began with breakfast in bed and the giving of handmade crafts and cards for our very special Daddy.

And, To our delight, grandma and grandpa joined us for an afternoon barbecue. (And speaking of Father's day and all of it's goodness... ) Grandpa, you're #1!
He is a wonderful man. And if you haven't met him yet... you should. If there were a Super Grandpa action hero... he'd be it. We are blessed he is ours. :) The kindest man I have ever met. And we love him so.

Ashton and Josie are so lucky.

The rest of the afternoon was spent out in the sandbox and swimming pool. And boy, do we love that sandbox.

This happens a lot.

He haste fully fills his green turtle box up until he has a centimeter of sand to play in. ...And he will play for hours. Building lovely summer memories playing with the very same tractors Daddy used to play with. ...Now if only he'd make some room for the sand to breathe.

When night was quickly approaching we decided to go for a late night drive in movie.
We set up their tiny chairs and covered the lawn with our big tie dye blanket. And, as we waited for the movie to begin, we sat and watched as the other children ran around and played ball. Laughing and loving on life. Proud daddies showing their littles how to catch and throw. Proudly clapping as they made that last catch. Happy Father's day to all you special daddies. And, of course, especially to ours.

During the night, I lay resting within Josh's right arm. Ashton sprawled out on top of me as Josie slept peacefully on daddy's left shoulder. I looked up and thought this was it. That moment of all moments that I want to remember above all else. My whole life. My whole world. Sitting quietly under that blanket of a star filled sky. Heaven at it's best.

It may have been Daddy's special day but I was feeling pretty darn special too.

In the meantime, it's been raining often... but that never stops us from enjoying our day.
We live for those rainy days. Any one care to dance?

It may be rainy outside but in here, our hearts are smiling.

Goodnight world. xoxo, Jessica
