Ashton turns 4.

He's four.

He is our Thomas the train loving, artistic, funny, goofy, construction truck lovin', rice krispie eatin', happy boy. (who is also obsessed with all things in the bread group.) His vocabulary continues to grow and he tells more jokes at age 4 then he asks questions. His heart is good and he loves his sister. His arms are always willing and ready to hug.

We love him.

We had a small party for him this past Saturday. and I loved hearing him envision his special day.

He wanted to help make his cake this year.

He wanted everything Thomas the train.

I cut up an old Thomas book he had that was on it's way out.

If you look closely, he helped me to string a few of his Thomas trains up for decoration.

The cake he wanted was simple. "A blue Thomas cake with m&m's" he requested.

Always anxious waiting for his guests to arrive.

Try keeping a 2 year old and a 4 year old away from a table that looks like this. It isn't easy. Especially when you have m&ms resting on the table simply begging to be eaten.

It was a bright and sunny afternoon for our bright and sunny Ashton

It's as if everyone just knew what he'd love without even having to ask. Trains, trucks and tools. ...He was in his glory.

Give a child a room full of family and balloons and they'll have all they'll ever need.

He sleeps with his new toys and books every night. He's going to need a bigger bed soon.

Aunt Jo Jo and Uncle Freddy found a really big train for him and we set it up in his bedroom on Sunday.

He also received his presents from daddy, mama and Josie.

We had bought him hungry hungry hippos and now it's been the "go to" game for the past few nights. I had forgotten how much fun it is to play. Especially with two very excited children.

Happy Birthday Dear Ashton... Happy Birthday to you.

..."and many more!"

We love you, Teddy.

xoxo,
Mommy, Daddy and Josie
