Shining Light

The kids are more excited than ever for this Christmas. I have enjoyed listening to all of the happy discussions as they imagine all the wonderful possibilities for this lovely, hopeful day.

Josie helped me bake up a storm on Saturday. She is my shadow in the kitchen.

Telling her to smile for the picture, she studied me with her wise brown eyes. Her face lit up with one of the smiles I love the most.

I stared back, smiling, loving my kid so much.

Liam helped too.

Delightfully delicious frosted oatmeal cookies we made for a Christmas party at church

This was the first time I made crayons in a few years. I forgot how fun it is to see the way they turn out!

Josie also worked on the salt dough ornaments this year while Ashton built transformers from legos

We are hoping for a new dusting of Christmas snow tonight

Decorating cookies with our friends

More cookie decorating this morning

Our snowman dinner -The kids LOVED it.

Constructing our stable for the nativity

We should have kept an eye on that yellow paint.

What you can't see, is the rest of the bed that was also painted yellow. ;)

I love our sweet little tradition.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
and makes the nations prove
the glories of his righteousness,
and wonders of his love,
and wonders of his love,
and wonders of his love.

JOY TO THE WORLD!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Jessie
